My inspiration for this project began with a strong desire to empower the scared feminine. There was a calling within me, to find a way of empowering individual women while allowing their creative self-expression to flow. I was searching for some artistic approach that would embody all that feminine energy has to offer, such as receptivity, sexuality, beauty, inspiration, power and love. By calling on help from the Universe, this idea began to form. By reflecting on topics I am deeply passionate about and a focus to illuminate the uniqueness of a soul - my inspiration bloomed.

A connection between Astrology, the Tarot, Psyche and Feminine energy reflected in all of the cosmos.

SACRED FEMININE & ITS POWERFUL FORCE

All the way back from 25,000BCE we can track feminine energy in relation to the Moon. The sculpture, Venus of Laussel in France, depicts a woman painted in red ochre with one hand on a swollen belly and the other holding a 13 notched crescent moon. This is an ancient artifict that decsribes an understanding of the women’s ovulation cycle in relation to the lunar phases of the Moon. From the beginning of these connects between Moon and Sacred Feminine, humanity discovered that the lunation cycles were in direct correlation to the rhythms of life.

We can also observe that the lunation cycle is linked to it’s movement around the Sun and Earth.

Thus, we receive the seasons of the year.

The shifts between day and night, light and dark.

Universal energy representing birth, growth, death and renewal.

Beginnings and Endings.

The Mother, The Maiden and The Crone.

THE MOON (feminine energy) & ASTROLOGY

The Moon also has its sacred understanding in Evolutionary Astrology to the conscious self-image of an individual. The Moon in the natal chart will reflect on how we live with ourselves on a day to day basis. Moon describes the emotions we feel triggered by feelings (Venus). If we understand our Moon, it’s sign and placement in the natal chart, we can then begin to understand our personal needs for safety, security, and ability to recieve. This affects the emotional dynamics that encourage us humans to make changes throughout life. Much like the lunar cycles, individuals will experience these changes in both short and long time frames. As we mature these changes and emotions integrate into our psyche and give form to a personal self-image. A self-image that is deep within the soul.

This connection to the psyche, and the astrological meanings behind the cards intertwine themselves into the powerful messaging of Tarot readings themselves.

TAROT & PSYCHE

Tarot, also known as “Cartomancy” is an ancient esoteric knowledge that has lived as far back as the 14th century. Once a divination tool only used by traveling “gypsys” has now become a wide known wisdom deck that can offer guidance, insight, symbolism with an openness for the imagination. A favorite scholar of mine, Carl Jung was a psychologist, astrologer and cartomancer himself whom studied and taught the topics of religion, spirituality, mythology, alchemy, the paranormal and archetypes of the psyche. Carl Jung made connections between the original Tarot to the collective unconscious. He found that the symbology of the 78 individual cards were outer manifestations of the humans psychological process.

Thus, when we used the Tarot deck we can find a synchronized connection between the cards we pull and current psychological condition we are experiencing.

SO, THE EMBODI TAROT WAS CONCEIVED…AND YOUR INVITED

The EMBODI Tarot deck will be a project of 78 different women of all various race, age (18+), size and backgrounds. Each woman will get to pick the individual Rider Waite card she wants to model given the card is still available. Full creative expression is encourage such as backdrop, props, pose, style and taste. Fine art nudity is allowed.

Each model, if they wish will also have a featured page on the website to outline who they are, why they picked the card, what it means for them to embody sacred feminine energy and anything else they wish to express. Eventually, these photos will be available for large print and featured in future gallery events.

The final product will be a beautiful version of the original Rider Waite Tarot that expresses sensuality, playfulness, inspiration, sexuality, internal power, erotism, life force, self-expression, kindness, compassion, empathy, intuition, creativity, wisdom, authenticity, and abundant love.
